During the fall of 2015 there were mass protests on Parliament Hill over the Liberal government implementing an updated sex education curriculum for the first time in 20 years. The purpose of this project was to take a magazine article (in this case Maclean’s) and create illustrations to enhance the message.
The overall goal of this project was to have a cute, funny, but also eye-opening experience, especially since sex ed is an uncomfortable topic here in Canada. The greatest impact this project has the children holding balloons in the shape of contraceptives. There’s an innocence that is juxtaposing is serious and mature topic.
